Toolset

I thought it would be worth sharing some of my toolset - I say 'some' because I am bound to forget something that I use occasionally, or quite possibly something that I use so often that it has become background to me. I keep meaning to try and put together a comparison of tools to help our students decide which ones they want to use, but somehow never find the time - maybe this will help kick start that endeavour too.

Browser - I use Firefox and IE depending on the compatibility of the site. This means, in practice, it is generally Firefox these days.
Browser plugins- I have bookmarklets for del.icio.us, share on facebook and CiteULike. I also have the clipmarks plugin, and the Google Notebook one. I don't like to have too many installed.
Sites & Services - I use del.icio.us, primarily via my use of www.clipmarks.com. I also try to keep references on CiteULike, but am also trying to keep them here at Brains, and using the reference manager program JabRef.
I blog here, at RedGloo and occasionally on the JISC Emerge site. I also have a couple of other blogs, but I am not very good at updating them.
I search primarily using Google and scholar.google.com is a firm favourite. I have a number of google alerts set up, and occasionally have time to read through them to cherry pick.
I sometimes use Doodle, frequently use Google groups, and occasionally the online-office offererings from Google and Zoho.
I have recently started keeping a version-control system, Subversion, to keep track of my documents for me. I have used sharepoint and Groove for collaboration, but not to any great extent.
I use Skype primarily as an instant messenging tool, and for file transfer, and, of course, I use email.

I will soon be using MeAggregator(TM) to help me keep things organised, and to share with others - but at the moment it is in alpha.
